The recently formed Aonic Group is investing $ 35 million in virtual reality game developer and publisher nDreams. VR Studios plans to use the funds to create more ambitious titles. It will also channel some of the money to expand its publishing work and further invest in nDreams Academy.
nDreams boss Patrick O’Luanaigh said: “This investment is a significant moment for nDreams, and I am pleased to have the support of Aonic, who has the same ambitious vision for the company as we do.” “As VR continues on its path to becoming truly mass-market technology, this is the rocket fuel needed to accelerate our rapid growth and take advantage of the many opportunities that keep coming our way.”
Studio has been a big name in VR game development since 2014. He has released games like Fracked, and Far Cry: Dive Into Insanity. His most famous game so far is probably Phantom: Covert Ops. It is a stealth-action VR game that puts the player in a kayak to fight the bad guys.
NDreams recently announced two new studios; n Dreams Studio Orbital and n Dreams Studio Elevation. The former will focus on live service games, while the latter will focus on AAA games and new IPs. It also has a third-party publishing initiative on the go, looking to support, fund and publish indie VR games.
