Avatar Dimension has announced that it is launching a mobile, portable version of its volumetric Microsoft Mixed Reality Capture Studio. Now it can be moved and relocated.
The studio is primarily for creating 3D holographic images. The portable version has a 70 12-megapixel volumecam camera and Microsoft’s capture and rendering pipeline. Images are captured on a scale and video files are merged to create 3D images that are placed in games and other tech.
Movable Studio takes three days to assemble and is available to customers “from enterprise to military and government agencies, museums, sports, fashion, entertainment and more.” The company opened its primary physical studio in Washington DC in 2011. According to Avatar Dimensions, the studio is one of only a handful in the world.
Dennis Brassey, CEO of Avatar Dimensions, said in a statement: “Over the past year, we’ve seen a steady increase in interest in movies, music, fashion, video games, all kinds of training and unique creations. Featuring immersive content like a real life 3D hologram. Bringing our volumetric capture stage directly to clients, quickly and seamlessly, really opens the door for many businesses who are interested in increasing their audience reach with innovative, mixed reality experiences, but need a capture session to get to them.
