Today, as part of a funding round led by Dell Technologies Capital, Cloud Logging Solution Dasa’s Cloud Log Lake has come out of stealth with a seed fund of 5 million.
Dasa’s Cloud Log Lake is designed to provide JSON-native, schema-less logging structured cloud logs used by popular enterprise services, including AWS and CloudTrail.
The solution has its own query language called Structure Log Query (SLQ), designed to allow users to query logs with SQL.
For Enterprise, Dasa’s Cloud Log provides a query on the Lake Cloud Log ingestion and usage-based pricing model, enabling users to inject and analyze data in a way that is 5 to 20 times cheaper than competing products, and 2. To 10 times faster.
Interpreting the mountains of the data set
While many organizations collect logs in the cloud environment, the reality is that the enterprise generates so much log data that it can be very expensive and difficult to process.
“Modern logs have evolved to be very large and highly structured. Collection and interrogation of such logs has become extremely costly and painful. This creates friction and frustration which leads many SecOps teams to limit the amount of logs they can send to their logging solution. This creates a significant lack of visibility and oversight and, ultimately, the risk of failure for cloud security programs, “said Gaurav Kumar, founder and CEO of Dasana.
By providing a more cost-effective solution for ingesting cloud logs, Dassana aims to give security teams more visibility into what’s going on in their environment so they can make sense of the data they’re generating.
“Log is the currency of modern DevSecOps. These teams need a bank that can store such currency. Ten is the bank, ”Kumar said.
Log Management Market
The global log management market is expected to grow from $ 2.3 billion in 2021 to $ 4.1 billion by 2026 as more organizations consider using logs to detect cyber threats and gather increased intelligence in their operations.
Dassana is competing against a number of other providers, including Splunk, which raised 1 billion last year, and offers data platforms for ingesting and monitoring cloud log data.
Another competitor is Datadog, a cloud monitoring-a-service solution that collects and integrates logs in one place, and recently announced that it generated revenue of $ 326.2 million during the fourth quarter of 2021.
However, Kumar says that Dasa differs from these solutions in that it provides users with the ability to pay independently for storage and query.
