Why does it seem like it’s been at least a month since I last wrote one of these columns? Oh right, because Lots of stuff Happened! One of the disadvantages of writing on a Friday is that I could not cover the weekend news in last week’s column. Let me tell you, it dropped this weekend. He went down this WeekMy head is still spinning.
Here’s a quick recap of the biggest announcements from various shows (except for the Summer Game Fest, which I covered last week):
I think it covers a lot of stuff, but needless to say there are many other stories out there. In non-show news, Activision Blizzard has apparently closed its own internal investigation into its problems with harassment. An excerpt from his report states: “While the board and management have implemented the above measures to continue to improve the workplace, it must be said that the company is subject to relentless barrage of media criticism that seeks to paint the entire company (and many innocent employees).” ) With a scar on a very small part of our working population who were engaged in bad behavior and disciplined for it ”
By the way, on a completely relevant note, a meeting of the company’s shareholders is taking place, where it encourages shareholders to vote against compiling a report on its efforts to prevent such abuse. It also encourages them to vote in favor of its executive compensation package, which would increase CEO Bobby Kotik’s salary.
With such a big week, I admit I don’t have much time for games (except for the Three Hopes demo, which I’m still excited about). But now that I have a three-day weekend, I’ll probably try Neon White. But after Xbox released a new gameplay trailer for Slim Rancher 2, the sequel to the Wiggle Sim title that I love from the bottom of my heart, I decided to reinstall it and play it a lot in the last few days. If anything can stop me from burning, they are my adorable, jigsaw puzzles.
