NECO announced yesterday that it has acquired game developer Dedalick Entertainment for € 53 million, or just 60 million. The two companies are working together on the upcoming game Lord of the Rings: Golam.
According to Necon, it will eventually acquire Daedalic’s 100% voting rights as well as its in-house IP. These include the Deponia and Edna and Harvey series. It added that Dedalick’s current leadership team would continue to run the studio with “a high level of autonomy in development and publishing”.
Alain Falc, CEO of Nacon, said in a statement: “Through our current collaboration on Gollum, we know that Nacon and Daedalic share the same values and the same goals that deliver unique experiences to gamers. So, it seemed logical to go further together, and we are very happy with this acquisition. It represents an important step in Necon’s strategy.
