A team of experienced members of the game industry today announced the launch of New Tales Game Studio. The combination is run by a team of developers and publishers who have worked on Activision Blizzard, Ubisoft, Vivendi, LucasArts and others.

New Tales, based in Paris, plans to develop games with its in-house studio, as well as publishing games from other developers. The company plans to provide “sophisticated publishing services with a new twist and global scope” according to its website.

The team is led by CEO Cédric Maréchal, former international SVP of Activision Blizzard. Other members of the team include COO Benoit Dufour, former international VP of Activision Blizzard; CCO Emanuel Obert, formerly of Blizzard and Ubisoft; And CGO Dolphin Le Core, formerly Blizzard and Vivendi. New Tales also has a team of senior advisors, including Kim and Ray Gresco, co-founders of Blue Silver and formerly LucasArts and Blizzard co-founder and Julia Humphreys, formerly of Blizzard.

“Gaming has rarely seen such an exciting time, inspired by a lot of innovation and creativity,” Merchant said in a statement. However, the frequency of new releases is increasing rapidly, which reinforces the need for a great international publication. NEW TALES is a one-stop-shop publishing solution where we are going to work with developers, as a joint team, dedicated to maximizing success. We are also building our own built-in capabilities to develop our own games and IPs. We look forward to joining forces with those who share our values and passions! ”
