Ubisoft announces that Prince of Persia: Sands of Time remake has been developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Formerly owned by Ubisoft’s Pune and Mumbai studios, the game has returned to its original creator studio.
The announcement reads, “This decision is an important step and based on the work done by the team, Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, it will now take the necessary time to re-group on the playing field to give you the best experience for this.” A remake of the all-time classic, when it’s ready.
From that language, it looks like the game is being delayed again. The remake has already been repeatedly delayed, with no specific date seen. In the last report, the game was expected to be released in the financial year 2022-23, meaning that it could be released by March 2023.
Just as the announcement is quick to point out, Montreal Studios has also developed the original Sands of Time trilogy. Ubisoft Montreal is still working on the development of Roller Champions and supporting the recently released Rainbow Six Extraction.
