Sad Cat Studios has announced that it is delaying its next title, Replace. According to the studio, some members of the team live in the area around Sad Kate in Belarus and have been negatively affected by the Ukraine war.

Replaced is a retro sci-fi platform, an alternative, set in Dystopian 1980, in which the player controls AI trapped in the human body. It is set to launch on the Xbox Game Pass as well as the Steam and Epic Games stores.

Sad Cat’s Explanation tweet Read: “The priority for Sad Cat was the safety of the team and their families. As a result, part of the team has now relocated and work on the replacement has only recently resumed.” Is delaying until, “but giving priority to the physical and mental health of the developers by not forcing an unexpectedly affected original deadline.”

The Russian invasion of Ukraine began on 24 February. Both Ukraine and Belarus have large communities of game developers who have been affected by the ongoing war.
