Sony schedules a State of Play event for June 2

Did you miss the GamesBeat Summit 2022 session? All sessions are now available to stream. Now look.

We’re getting a PlayStation Reveal event for the summer, and it’s coming sooner than some other summer events. Sony has announced that it is hosting a state-of-the-art show on June 2.

According to a PlayStation blog post, the show will be about 30 minutes long. It will feature “exciting revelations from our third-party partners, as well as a glimpse into some games in development for the PlayStation VR2.” Sony announced in its investor briefing this week that it plans to make at least 20 games available for PSVR2 at launch.

“Third-party” suggests we may not see some games from PlayStation’s first-party studio, such as God of War: Ragnarok. Looks like we’ll get games like Hogwarts: Legacy, which has got its own state of play. We can also expect some final fantasy news.

With no E3 this year, summer gaming events are scattered over the next few weeks. State of the Plain Time puts it between the Star Wars Celebration – May 26 to May 29 – and the Summer Game Fest, which begins on June 9.
