Stalker 2 delayed to 2023 as studio reveals working conditions in Ukraine

GSC Game World, Stalker 2: The Developers Behind the Hearts of Chernobyl attended an elaborate showcase of Xbox Games. While the game itself is delayed until 2023, the studio assured gamers that it was still working on it amid unrest and war in its home state of Ukraine.

Xbox inadvertently announced game delays during its main showcase. It showed List of games It planned to release on Xbox in the next 12 months, and Stalker 2 was on the list of games for 2023, as opposed to its then-estimated release date in late 2022. GSC Game World confirmed this during an extended showcase – the new trailer just says “2023”.

GSC staff talked about development in the middle of the Russo-Ukrainian war. They showed footage of their employees being either evicted or sheltered during the initial attack. Some personnel are working within the shelter they can find, and are also assisting in combat efforts. They all reiterated that they are eager to finish the game and release it, despite the struggles surrounding it.

The new trailer is a cinematic one, showing a truck that appears to be entering a nuclear zone. It doesn’t say much about the game, but it sets the tone. The game will launch in 2023 on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Series X and PC.
