Superman Officially Gets New Motto, Drops ‘The American Way’

It was revealed on Friday Superman Getting a brand new catchphrase, as the iconic DC Comics hero “will fight for truth, justice and a better tomorrow.” At DC Fendome, DC Chief Creative Officer and publisher Jim Lee announced that Man of Steel will officially replace “American Way” with its motto and, instead, the “A Better Tomorrow” line. The new catchphrase better embodies the hero’s ultimate mission to make the world a better place.

Superman is one of the most recognizable pop culture figures on earth, having originally debuted in action comics # 1 in 1939. The hero has always been associated with the United States when The Man of Tomorrow crashed and landed on Earth. Raised in Smallville, Kansas in the United States. However, despite his long-held slogan suggesting that he fights for the American cause, Superman has long fought for everyone around the world – meaning his goal has not been as omnipresent as it should be.
