Ubisoft reported its earnings for the fiscal year ended March, citing the success of its franchise during the competitive period. He also mentioned his progress on his diversity and inclusion goals and said he plans to be independent for the time being.
During his earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Gulemot said the company’s top three franchises – Rainbow Six, Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry – each brought in about $ 320 million in net bookings. It posted an operating profit of about $ 428 million, about 14% less than the previous year.
The company added that it expects a lot from the next financial year, including Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Mario + Rabbits: Sparks of Hope, Skull and Bones and Year 7 Rainbow Six: Seas. It also plans to invest in free-to-play titles, including the next division mobile title. Some titles are missing from this lineup, including Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, but that doesn’t mean it won’t come out in that fiscal year.
Gilmot had earlier addressed rumors surrounding “consolidation” in the industry, saying Ubisoft needed to remain independent. He praised the employees for their resilience during “demanding times” and “meaningful challenges”.
On the staffing side, Ubisoft reports that it is still investing in diversification and inclusion. Increased from 22% two years ago to 25% employees. There are also 42% women on the executive committee and 45% on the board. Ubisoft has a history of controversy with its employees, often involving sexual misconduct against female employees. Gilmot added that the company plans to continue this trend of staffing in the future.
