WWE 2K22 is rebounding from disastrous 2K20

As part of its recent earnings report, Take-Two Interactive notes that WWE 2K22 is outperforming its most recent predecessor.

“Significantly, sales of WWE 2K22 exceeded the levels achieved for both WWE 2K19 and WWE 2K20 for its first four weeks, even with improved release windows that were not available during the festive season,” Take to States.

WWE 2K20 had a rough launch. Players and critics penned the title for its scattered content and numerous errors. It was the first entry in the annual series developed by Visual Concepts only. Yuke’s worked at WWE Games for 18 years before leaving the brand after WWE 2K19.

That transition led to growing pain for take-two. Following the negative reception of WWE 2K20, the publisher decided to take extra time in his next major wrestling game. That strategy has paid off, as WWE 2K22 is selling well and is getting a much warmer response from fans.

The UK, meanwhile, is now working on a game of wrestling for AEW. The Fight Forever title, the game is expected to be out by the end of the year.
